A chalkware figurine of a boy holding a fruit basket, made by Alexander Backer under the ABCO mark. Chalkware pieces like this were cast in plaster and hand-painted, a mid-century American decorative tradition that turned inexpensive figures like this into a fixture on mantels and shelves. Good condition. One piece, one new owner, then closed.
