Nadal - Valencia Girl with Oranges

A hand-painted porcelain figurine by Nadal, Manises, one of Spain's oldest ceramic workshops (active since 1915). A seated girl in traditional Valencian dress holds a basket of oranges, fruit spilling beside her, a motif rooted in Valencia's citrus heritage. Commissioned by Pascual (Zumo Pascual) as a promotional object, a rare crossover of decorative porcelain and advertising collectible. The Lladro #4841 "Valencian Girl" was the genre's cultural reference point; Nadal's version predates most of that lineage. One piece, one new owner, then closed. ✦
