A seated female nude with hand raised to mouth, the third figure in Bohumil Kokrda's human interpretation of the Three Wise Monkeys ("see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"). Model no. 411, ivory-tone glaze, polished surface. Kokrda (b. 25 October 1914, Dolní Libochová) graduated the Academy of Fine Arts Prague (1936-39) and from 1957 was a model designer at Keramia Znojmo. Produced by JIHOKERA Bechyně, stamped 1980; original JIHOKERA label preserved on the plinth. One piece, one new owner, then closed. ✦
