Josef Strnact Wall Plate, Rhine Valley Castle
A Josef Strnact wall plate, a Rhine Valley castle landscape rendered in relief, Art Nouveau. Wall plates like this one were made to be displayed rather than used, decorative ceramics that turned a popular Romantic-era subject, the fortified castle on a river, into something for the parlor wall instead of the table. Good condition. One plate, one new owner, then closed.
