A seated ballerina figurine in cream-white glaze, model no. 165, titled “Baletka.” Designed by Miloslav Smutny (1912-1989), a graduate of the Bechyně Ceramics School whose figural work is noted for its lyrical quality and intentional harmony with domestic interiors. Produced by JIHOKERA, Bechyně, South Bohemia, in the 1960s. The original pencil price marking “57 Kčs” remains on the base, a direct record from the time of manufacture. One piece, one new owner, then closed. ✦
