A figural group of a seated shepherd boy holding a lamb, with a second sheep resting at his feet. Model no. 131, unglazed fired terracotta with a matte natural surface. Originally designed by Ludvik Wurzel (1865-1913), a Czech sculptor working at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The model was industrially reproduced by JIHOKERA Bechyně in the 1970s, making this piece a late reproduction of a Secession-era original, a specific collecting category within Central European ceramics. One piece, one new owner, then closed. ✦
